San Francisco OIA Annual Conference & General Meeting
In conjunction with the American Osteopathic Association's 115th Unified Osteopathic Medical Conference & Exposition (OMED)
23-26 October 2010
Please join us in San Francisco, CA, USA, 23-26 October 2010, as part of the American Osteopathic Association's Unified OMED 2010, "Bridge to OpportUNITY."
The OIA will hold its Annual General Meeting on Saturday the 23rd, ahead of the beginning of the Conference. On Sunday the 24th, the OIA will be teaming with the AOA-U.S.'s Bureau on International Osteopathic Medical Education & Affairs (BIOMEA) for its International Seminar and Poster Session, capping the evening with an OIA-BIOMEA Reception at the Moscone Centre. On Monday, the AOA-U.S. will hold its opening session with a keynote address from former Notre Dame U.S. football coach Lou Holtz. Monday will continue with a joint session with the OIA Partner members, the American Osteopathic College of Occupational and Preventive Medicine (AOCOPM) and the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO). We will wrap up Monday with a summit discussion of the WHO Benchmarks on Osteopathy. Tuesday will include an OIA panel discussion on "Osteopathic Professional Recognition - National Case Studies," a continuation of the discussion begun in London at Advancing Osteopathy 2008, as well as an OIA member research paper presentation. The OIA's Conference will close with the AOA-U.S. Presidential Reception at the Marriott Hotel. Download the provisional agenda (PDF).

Nomination Announcement

In accordance with the OIA bylaws, the Board chair has appointed a three-person Nomination Committee to carry out the next elections to the Board of Directors. The full membership will vote on the three seats up for election at the San Francisco AGM on Saturday, 23 October. Each seat's term is three years, limited to two consecutive terms, which begin immediately following the OIA's Annual General Meeting.
The nomination deadline is now closed. Thank you to all members who submitted nominations. The Nomination Committee will review all applications and release the list of applicants prior to 24 August.
